Eli Keszler is next to Chris Corsano my favorite not-playing-drums-regularly drummer. His hyper-active improvised Free Jazz style reminds me more of sound art than actual drumming. Fascinating and after seeing him live a couple of times I’m more and more impressed. Solo, in a duo as Red Horse or as a part of collaborations his records are super challenging and not easy to digest. If you’re not familiar with his work you should definitely check out the recording of the show he recently did at London’s Cafe Oto. It’s a free download and you can get it here.
