Do you remember Frodus, 90s Washington, D.C.-based post-hardcore band? They were awesome, no doubt, but after 2000 it was quiet about them. Some members appeared in side projects like The Black Sea, Decahedron or The Cassettes. Last ones are pretty generous because they give you their back catalogue for free before they’ll release a new album sometime soon. Okay, I have to warn you, this has nothing to do with mighty Frodus except Shelby Cinca as frontman. The Cassettes are playing some kind of indie rock with a world music edge. Does it make sense? Well, they add instruments like banjo, singing saw, tabla and theremin to their sound.

Get the compilation with 8 free tracks here and listen to Frodus’ And We Washed Our Weapons In The Sea afterwards.
