This guy is a mystery. Releasing under his real name Leyland Kirby and his alias The Caretaker a handful of noisy dark ambient / neo-classical records, but no one really knows who he is. I heard he lived in Berlin for a while. Anyway, his last record was the soundtrack to a film by director Grant Gee called Patience about the painter W.G. Sebald.

The album’s Patience (After Sebald) material, apparently sourced from Franz Schubert’s 1827 piece Winterreise, is subjected to the hauntological processes of looping, obfuscation and gradual obliteration. Kirby has now released a free album of outtakes from that record, titled Extra Patience (After Sebald) and it is available to stream and download at his Bandcamp.
