Just recently I had a discussion about smart electronic music and the difference to a more Brandenburg style. There are so many good releases out there. I mean not classics like Aphex Twin or Autechre, more acts like Heatsick, Ital or the newer live  stuff from Bill Kouligas aka Family Battle Snakes, oh let’s not forget Hive Mind. Mohn’s first release is one I’m really looking forward to hear it.

Wolfgang Voigt best known from his Gas records collaborates with also German producer Jörg Burger. Together they are Mohn. According to their label Kompakt the upcoming debut will be extremely decelerated, slow motion techno with and without bass drum, containing lots of plasticiser. Manifesto is the first song I’ve heard and it’s awesome drony stuff.

They’ll give their live debut Thursday at Club Transmediale and maybe they’ll play Ebertplatz 2020.

Say something.
